How my service works...
I have a $140 service call charge that covers the trip to your home and the diagnostics for the appliance. Diagnosing additional appliances is an extra $75 per appliance. Once I figure out what the issue is, I'll give you a quote for the repair. The service call charge will go toward the quoted repair cost should you decide to go through with the repair. Please note that jobs outside my regular service area are subject to an extended range service call charge.
I do not have an hourly rate. Here's why. When I diagnose your appliance, I give you a quote based on the cost of parts, intensity of the repair and the expertise needed to perform the repair. This way, you know up front, exactly what the repair will cost. Sometimes when repairing appliances, I'll run into unforeseen hiccups that greatly increase the time it takes to do the repair. If you were paying me by the hour, you would not be very happy to see the bill at the end of the service. Also, the last thing I need is for a home owner to be pressuring me into "hurrying up" so as to lessen the cost of the service. I do not like being rushed! I will give you a quote for the repair and if it is agreeable to you, I will complete the repair at the quoted cost no matter how long it may take.
